2016-02-20Watch out! Blueberries spread Hepatitis A!?
For urban people having fast pace of life and irregular meal time, health is what they want most. Vegetables and fruits play important role in keeping us stay healthy in which blueberry is a popular choice as it can protect our sight, improve our memory and make us more beautiful. Nevertheless, Mainland blueberries and other berries were reported to cause Hepatitis A while Hong Kong has received 64 infected cases in this year April, triggering social panic.
On the other hand, specialists of infectious diseases have predicted that apart from polluted underground sewage system in croplands, fruits could also be contaminated by Hepatitis A virus if they were not treated appropriately during packing and delivery. According to Centre for Health Protection, Department of Health, Hepatitis A induces similar symptoms to other viral hepatitis and the symptoms include:
- Loss of appetite
- Feel like vomiting
- Jaundice (Skin and sclera turn yellow, dark urine and light faeces)
As a result, urban people have to avoid intake of bacteria altogether with vegetables and fruits but simply cleaning them with water is not enough. HOCl (hypochlorous acid) in JcoNAT disinfectant can effectively kill various bacteria, viruses and bacterial spores, including Hepatitis A. We suggest clean vegetables and fruits with water and following by sprays of disinfectant (pack for kitchens) on their surface so as to sterilise them quickly and effectively. No rinsing is needed for food sterilised by JcoNAT disinfectant, they can be taken right away. With JcoNAT, health accompanies you!
